Location: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days in our Leeds based studio

Working Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, Permanent Contract

Role purpose

We are seeking a solution to address challenging projects that require a unique blend of design initiative and technical artwork expertise. While some projects fall clearly into the categories of artwork or design, there are others that require a more nuanced approach known as ‘Creative Artwork.’ These projects demand a balance of creativity and technical precision to produce exceptional results, particularly for packaging and point-of-sale (POS) materials. As a Creative Artworker, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and creative excellence, reinforcing our reputation for quality and building trust with our clients.

Skills

As a Creative Artworker, you bring strong artistic and creative skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for the meticulous. You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with additional design software is advantageous and enhances your ability to adapt to project needs, ensuring every project reaches a high standard of quality. Your excellent project management abilities allow you to prioritise tasks effectively, delivering under tight deadlines. With a steady, forward-thinking approach, you can respond to mercurial situations calmly, considering both immediate needs and the days ahead. You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, making you comfortable working with diverse teams and building positive relationships. Highly motivated and proactive, you are equally effective working independently or within a team. 

Your innovative thinking enables you to approach challenges creatively and solve problems efficiently. Committed to maintaining high standards, you are dedicated to continuous improvement across all aspects of artwork production. Cosmetic retouching expertise is essential, and experience in creative retouching is a valuable bonus.

Experience

You have over 3 years of industry experience in relevant design, which has provided you with a deep understanding of brand guardianship and the importance of upholding brand integrity across all outputs. You are accustomed to following established processes and procedures with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every project. You thrive in a collaborative environment, actively contributing to team efforts that drive efficiencies and enhance overall project workflow. Experience working closely with client services in an agency setting has equipped you with the communication and organisational skills necessary for building effective relationships with your peers and delivering outstanding service.

Knowledge

You possess extensive understanding of print processes and colour management, particularly as they apply to packaging and Point of Sale (POS) projects. This expertise enables you to handle a range of project needs with accuracy, from retouching and design interpretation, to ensuring consistency across multiple formats. 

You have a strong understanding of brand guidelines and are skilled in following them precisely, ensuring that all outputs align with the client’s or brand’s identity and objectives. This role values your knowledge of packaging POS design nuances and your ability to translate these into creative, design artwork that meets both aesthetic and practical requirements.

Qualifications 

While a degree in Graphic Design or a related field is often preferred, a strong portfolio showcasing relevant experience may be equally valuable. An academic background in visual arts or design fundamentals can be beneficial for technical and creative roles.

Creative artworkers are expected to have a solid background in design and artwork preparation, ideally with 3+ years in packaging design or POS design. Experience working on major fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands is a must.
